Every time you turn on the television some football player or person you’d never seen before is singing their praises about Nutrisystem. If you haven’t tried it and are thinking about doing so, obviously there’s only one question that you want answered, does the Nutrisystem diet work? Below is a Nutrisystem diet review.
The Nutrisystem diet is very expansive. It offers plans for men and women as well as seniors, people that are afflicted with type 2 diabetes and vegetarians. Whatever plan you choose, your meals can work out in one of two ways. You can get the recipes off the website, go shopping and prepare your own meals, or you can purchase their pre-packaged, portioned meals which will be shipped to you. The second option is great because it takes all the guess work out of planning your meals.
So how do they know what foods to give you? The foods you receive are based on the glycemic index. Basically, the faster insulin gets into your blood stream after you eat the quicker you’ll be hungry again. Those foods have a high glycemic index. Foods that cause insulin to get into your blood slower have a lower glycemic index, making you full for a longer period of time.
What about exercise? Yes the word has reared its head into this Nutrisystem diet review. Although exercise is not required for you to lose weight on this diet, exercise is encouraged because of the positive effects on weight loss. So, does the Nutrisystem diet work? Absolutely, people that have used this diet have experienced weight loss of anywhere from 30 to 130 pounds depending on length of time used.
Nutrisystem is a great program for those that need the discipline of a regimented weight loss program. The only complaint may be the cost of the program and the fact you are eating their prepackaged foods which you could buy at the store for less than half what they charge. But again if you don’t have access to a diet plan that will tell you EXACTLY what and when to eat you may have to spend the extra bucks and go with Nutrisystem.
