I sometimes hear from people who want to know for how long they are required to be on the Nutrisystem diet. My response is that this is honestly up to the person asking the question. I am often met with a blank stare or a questioning look. Some people will follow up and ask how this is a decision that is left up to them. Many assume that the diet is one that must be prescribed by a doctor who must also determine the length of the time that he or she is willing to prescribe the diet. Others assume that you have to sign up for or commit to a certain number of months before they can order any meals. Neither of these are true.
The reality is that you don’t have to make any commitment ahead of time on this diet. No one makes the decision about the duration of your experience except for you. There isn’t any prescription or commitment required as you are only purchasing food. And you can do this for any time frame that you wish because you can order on an individual basis or you can order enough to last you a couple of weeks or a month.
Of course, how much food you need is going to depend on how much weight you intend to lose. And some folks will want to have a very specific plan with weekly or monthly weight loss goals and others will want to just take it day by day and evaluate later if they want to keep going. I often find that there are two common approaches to this. Some people like to know what is going to happen and those folks might have a plan to lose say twenty five pounds. And they may decide that losing two pounds per week is doable. So they will figure that this will take them about thirteen weeks or about three months. And they may go ahead and order enough meals to last them for the duration of that estimated time.
Other people will take a different strategy. They may know that they want to lose twenty five pounds but they want the room to evaluate things as they come. So they might place an order for one month of food and have good results. But, they may decide to take a break for a week or two before the place another order. Both strategies can work just fine.
Yet others are lucky only have a small amount of weight to lose and they only need to place one order before they are happy with their results and can continue on with regular foods. I hope that this article has shown you that you don’t have to be on Nutrisystem for any longer than you chose to be. No one is going to force you to commit to anything. It’s simply a situation where you place a food order when you want to be on the diet and you don’t order again when you want to a break or are at a point where you are content with your results.
The diet is meant to be flexible and convenient and since different people start out with different amounts of weight to lose and have different goals, you can make this determination for yourself, although the company does offer a lot of resources to help guide you if you want or need it.
